Meet the Dynamic Duo: Summit Sports Directors Marisol & Rosey

Marisol Moreno and Rosey Gaggioli have both been a part of Summit for a long time - and this year they are teaming together to lead the Girls' Sports Program during the Summit Summer Olympics!

Marisol started coming to Summit as a camper in the Girls' Program in 2009, and worked as a Junior Counselor for 4 years. "I've grown so much with Summit. Working with the girls and the counselors, I've seen that women can achieve a lot. I've learned to be a team player and to have patience when working with younger kids." This spring, Marisol graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. In the fall, she will attend the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she has earned full ride scholarship.

Rosey has been working at Summit as a Counselor for 6 summers, and says that working here inspired her to become a teacher. "I loved building relationships with the girls on my team over the seven weeks. The character aspect of the program helped me to inspire them to do their best and work hard." Rosey graduated from UW-Madison this last spring with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in General Science and Spanish. After the Summer Program ends in August, Rosey will head to Ecuador for a year of volunteering at the Working Boys Center, where she will be teaching classes in both English and Spanish.

Marisol and Rosey have a big agenda this summer to get the girls excited about different sports and to improve their athletic skills. Their goals are to help the Summit girls learn good sportsmanship while having a healthy competitive spirit, teach them new sports and skills, and to help the girls reach their potentials and discover athletic talents. Good luck to you ladies!
